The
UX
DESIGN
process
UX design involves
three basic steps:
1. Research
The research step focuses on understanding users’ needs, behaviours and expectations to create a user-centered experience. By gathering feedback, key pain points and opportunities for improvement can be identified.
This foundational research provides clarity on industry standards and helps to validate subsequent design decisions.
2. Analysis
Here, raw data is translated into actionable insights, creating a clear roadmap for the design process.
This step allows for the prioritization of features and solutions that align with user goals and business objectives, and sets the stage for an effective and focused design strategy.
3. Design
In this stage, user-centred mindset is needed so that insights from research and analysis can be developed into tangible design solutions in the form of a wireframe, a low-fidenlity prototype or a high-fidelity prototype, depending on the client’s needs and budget.
Each iteration of the design should be intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with user expectations. The resultant designs are then refined for testing, ensuring they are ready for user validation and feedback.
The real-life application of the aforementioned design steps can be seen in the projects below.

Project 1: Christie Hotels
This project involved the entire UX and UI process from research phase to high-fidelity prototype.
It therefore provides a great overview of everything that UX/UI design entails for those who are unfamiliar with the field.
Project 2: ion percussion
This project was more focused on the UI phase, particularly the development of a very complex, high-fidelity prototype.
In this project you can see how close a UI design can come to a working website.
