Project description

This project was for a young, high-end British fashion designer who needed two specific graphic design jobs done:

1) The redesign of his logo to make it more personal and less generic.

2) Product mock-ups to show this logo in use on products in his catalogue.

STEP 1: Redesigning the logo

The old logo

The original company logo had been designed by the owner of the company and lacked any originality or personality.

Aside from this fact, it was also extremely similar to the Carolina Herrera logo – a brand which operates within the same segment as Christian Holmes, and so a new logo was needed to set the Christian Holmes brand apart and inject some personality into it.

The new logo

I decided to base the new logo on the signature of the company founder – Christian Holmes.

To achieve this, I had him write his signature on sheet of paper in black marker. I then traced this image and was able to turn the individual letters into vector files.

This results in a logo with far more personality and originality than the original.

STEP 2: Product mock-ups

Formal shirt

Here, I have added a subtle, stitched logo to the left breast of the shirt.

Silk tie

Here, I have added the logo as a repeating pattern integrated into the silk fabric of the tie.

Handkerchief

Here, I have added a classy stitched white logo to the corner of the handkerchief.
